Prey - Shuttle Bay

This post is part of our series of tips for Prey by Arkane Studios. It's not meant to be a comprehensive walkthrough filled with boring common-sense or easily-discovered points of interest, but things that might be tricky or that are easily overlooked.

Talos I Lobby entrance
  • If you are coming from the Talos I Lobby and you get into trouble with the Technpath here, you can just leap off and down if you have the Artax Propulsion System to safely land. The downstairs area is strangely clear of enemies except in initially closed rooms.
Mechanic Facilities
  • There is a fire hazard (Slide 1) that the Voltaic Phantom can wander into. You might even encounter the Phantom already injured (Slide 2). Wait long enough and it will get itself killed, so at some point you want to get down there and scan it with the Psychoscope first.
  • You can safely engage the enemies inside by keeping the door locked and shooting through the window.
Radioactive containers on bottom floor (Slide 3)
  • A Recycler Charge can get rid of the radioactive canisters and leave the body alone, allowing you to approach without Radiation damage. If you didn't bring a Recycler charge with you, there is one in Mechanic Facilities.
Reward for "Escape Attempt"
  • If you are having difficulty finding your way up, try GLOO at the sink (Slide 4) then at the top (Slide 5), turn around and sprint + jump over. The other edges of the room don't have enough space for you to squeeze up, apparently, and block your jump.
Technopath
  • Because it flies it's quite hard to walk it into hazards. And because it's big, it's also quite hard to get it to walk through doors into corridors with hazards. So you might want to just leave it alone and check back once in a while to see how many of its Turrets it has smashed just by floating around. These Turrets fall to the ground and can be recovered and repaired.
  • Throwing things at it then running away quickly is a doable strategy. A good spot to do this is near the security booth so you can dash in and lock the door.
Dahl's Ultimatum
  • The quest "Dahl's Ultimatum" is triggered here. Once you locate his Operator and make an area transition, he will contact you and start this quest. This is meant for you to somehow confront Dahl.
  • You are expected to go to Life Support but you can instead neutralize his Operator. Doing so unlocks doors and thereby prevents asphyxiation and ends the timed crisis but introduces a new stage where you need to confront Dahl in the Arboretum.
Mia Beyer office computer and safe
  • We haven't found the password and code so we just hacked it. Post in the comments if you have confirmed locations.
