Prey - Psychotronics

This post is part of our series of tips for Prey by Arkane Studios. It's not meant to be a comprehensive walkthrough filled with boring common-sense or easily-discovered points of interest, but things that might be tricky or that are easily overlooked.

Aaron Ingram
  • He may walk into the Armory. If you don't lock him inside, when new monsters spawn they may end up killing him. If he's not being cooperative you might try using the Disruptor Stun Gun to render him unconscious then drag him to where you can lock him up safely.
Corridor with flame hazard (Slide 1)
  • At the Weaver enclosure, there are two doors, one leading to the Armory. Depending on which direction you approach, there is a scripted one-time event. If you approach from the other direction, that event is disabled for both directions.
Armory
  • The most obvious ways to get in are to release V-090655-13 or to Hack the keypad. The trickiest way is probably to clear the GLOO from the small window and use the Huntress Boltcaster to shoot the door switch.
  • If you crouch right in front of the window, you will be too low. But if you back up all the way to the wall of the corridor (Slide 2) you should be able to shoot through the window while crouched and hit the door lock.
  • The Volunteer will not give you the keycode if you have opened the door yourself by any means.
Labs A, Office of Annalise Gallegos (Slide 3)
  • There's actually a small note to the side of the GLOOed window that prepares you for what's inside. And it's interesting the the gas lines can give you two big jets of flame -- commonly you might get one big jet and more holes only give you small jets of flame.
Labs B, Office of Helen Barker-Combs (Slide 4)
  • Outside her office is a Turret. If left alone it will probably shortly get destroyed by an event triggered when you are close, whether you are paying attention down the corridor or not. Typically there is enough time to rush in and grab it.
Labs B, Behavioral Biometrics, big square room
  • One door is blocked by two Reel Cabinets that require Leverage II to move. However, you can climb one of them and crawl through the space above and through the doorway.
Live Exam
  • You can repeat the experiment with Ruby Stone (only?). No effect with Cory Richard, Demian Linn, or Hans Kelstrup.
Psychoscope
  • Once you have it, you can Research yourself if you have the appropriate power unlocked. (Slides 5-6).
