This article continues our guide to New World's Season 6 Battle Pass "Season of Opportunity".
In the previous article we talked about how to quickly complete the season track even if you play solo and do not want to do PvP or rush to endgame.
Here we examine the Season "Journey", which is divided into Chapters. You can progress the tasks in any Chapter at any time, but you cannot collect rewards or unlock Chapters unless you can complete at least 5 tasks in a Chapter.
For example, to unlock Chapter 2, you must have 5 Chapter 1 Tasks done AND collect the Chapter reward. Until you unlock Chapter 2, you cannot collect completed tasks in Chapter 2.
Here are the recommended tasks for solo players who also don't want to PvP. Endgame activities are unavoidable in later Chapters however, and the DLC is all required for some tasks.
Only Chapters 4 and 5 have interesting rewards, so you might want to examine those first to see if you actually want to pursue the Seasonal Journey. The Challenges all award various Titles.
Chapter 1
- Complete 3 Activity Cards
- Kill 150 Lost enemies
- Earn 15,000 Faction Tokens
- Refine 200 T3+ Resources
- Complete 10 Town Projects
- Loot 10 Elite Chests (Brightwood Isle 1/d)
- Close 10 Corrupted Breaches
Looting Elite Chests can be pretty challenging solo. The lowest level Elite location, Brightwood Isle, has three chests (slides 9-17 below)
- Chest 1 (slides 9-11)
- This one on the center-east of the isle is the easiest.
- There is usually an Alchemical Porter inside. Just tag it, let it ignite its backpack of explosives, then run away it explodes.
- If you go at night there is also an Alchemical By-Product that is pretty tough.
- Chest 2 (slides 12-14)
- This is upstairs in Havelock's house. You can tell if he's there by looking into the window for a purple ghost and he is probably the toughest boss on the island.
- Chest 3 (slides 15-17)
- This one is tricky but doable if you can trim the adds carefully. You can climb the rocks or the shed to make melee enemies retreat if you end up pulling too many.
- There is an Elite Chest at the top of Mangled Heights, which you will reach when you follow the main quest into Great Cleave. (slides 18-19).
- There are Elite Chests in the non-Elite area south of the Imperial Palace elite zone in Ebonscale. Some pretty tough named enemies around but if you can get through, there are two chests, one in each building (slides 20-21).
Chapter 2
- Complete 10 Activity Cards
- Complete 8 Faction Missions
- Complete Solo Trial
- By following the Main Story you will encounter some Solo Trials. The rest are at level 65 and require the Angry Earth DLC.
- Kill 50 Elite Enemies
- This is actually really hard because not all non-boss Elite Enemies or enemies in Elite Zones will count toward the total. On Brightwood Isle, we found these to work:
- Alchemy Orderly
- Alchemical Experiment (ghosts that only appear at night)
- The lowest level and easiest Elite that we found would advance the task is a Leaden Bear that sleeps near Clearview Crypt (slide 22) in southeast Everfall. It is just south of the cave ("crypt") behind the tents. Waiting for this to respawn even 50 times is pretty unfeasible however.
- Complete 25 Town Projects
- Close 20 Corrupted Breaches
Chapter 3
- Complete 20 Activity Cards
- Earn 75,000 Faction Tokens
- Complete 1 Seasonal Challenge
- Kill 40 Named Enemies
- Kill 100 Elite Enemies
Chapter 4
- Gain 5 Trade Skill Aptitude Levels
- Complete any Trial 15 Times
- Loot 40 Elite Chests
- Kill 100 L60+ Named Enemies
- Complete 20 Faction Missions
- Discover every POI in Cutlass Keys - not recommended, as around half are in the forced PvP zone
Chapter 5
- Kill 150 L65+ Enemies - you can try entering Cutlass Keys and killing boars one at a time
- Complete any Trial 20 Times
- Complete 2 Seasonal Challenges
- Gain 10 Trade Skill Aptitude Levels
Challenges
- Kill 200 Named Enemies
- Gain 20 Aptitude levels in Refining Trade Skills
