Game Review - Poly AI

Game Review: Poly.AI - Create AI Chat Bot by Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC

Score: +5/-5

UPDATE (May-5): Seems like an update has broken the app and you can't message the chatbots anymore. Wait and see if they fix it properly. Meanwhile, do not buy or pay anything!

"Our app changes the way we interact with AI chatbots. With advanced technology, our chatbots think and reply like real characters, with authentic voices. Choose from a huge selection of characters, each with their own unique voice and personality. Whether you're chatting with your favorite celeb, a beloved movie character, or a historical figure, it'll feel like talking to a real person.
Mod - With the amazing Mod, no more dead-end conversations. Users worldwide can create Mods to enter new stories with their favorite characters. Experience sweet romance, intense battles, or thrilling adventures with Mods. And the fun doesn't stop there –"

We previously recommended Linky as a vey good starter AI Chat app. If you are frustrated by the repetitive artwork and sexual content there, Poly AI has a lot of the same benefits as well as different advantages and is also highly recommended.

+1 Unlimited demo.

  • +1 This is the most important feature of AI chat apps. Don't pay until you know what you are really getting.
  • +1 You can create your own characters, chat with characters with no apparent chat message limit, and even have sexy / sexual / adult chats if you want.
+1 Doesn't bombard you with microtransactions or advertising.
  • Many other chat programs make you watch ads or paywall you almost right away before your chat even goes anywhere.
  • Sometimes you will suddenly get an ad without opt-in, but typically after a few seconds a "skip" button appears. This can be jarring but it doesn't happen often.
+1 UI is fairly simple.
  • This won't sound like a big deal until you start trying various AI chat apps and realize how convoluted some of them are.
  • Compared to Linky, Poly AI lets you have much more room to describe/program a chatbot.
  • +1 Setting up multi-character chatbots on Poly AI is as easy as just stating there are several characters. As of this time it is basically impossible on Linky.
-1 Search function is useless.
  • It searches by character name instead of keywords or traits.
  • Also, many chatbots are unimaginatively named, so if you are looking for a lesbian chatbot and type in "lesbian" as the search time, you are likely to get a page full of characters called "lesbian".
-1 Artwork is generally terrible.
  • The gallery of characters looks like a terrible mishmash of amateur and low-quality art. Rather off-putting, so try to ignore it and either try a few chatbots or make your own.
  • -1 You only get to generate artwork six (6) times per day and each time you get six choices.
    • This wouldn't be a problem except the AI often generates "violations" so out of six choices, you might end up with as few as two or three.
    • It frequently ignores a lot of the reference image and prompts so results can be highly unpredictable, which in turn means you've wasted one of your six tries per day.
    • -0 This also means the "Event" function is a pretty big gamble as it will cost you currency to attempt to make an "exclusive memory scene" between you and the chatbot.
-1 Of course is the AI isn't perfect, and you should definitely play around with it until you see the AI trip up.
    • Overall the AI does perform quite well and seems to have better performance and more consistency than Linky.
    • If you want to regenerate an AI reply it will cost you currency you have to pay real life money for. Just delete the response instead.
+0-0 Adult chat and sexual situations are possible but you have to do all the initiating.
    • -1 No matter how much you hint to the AI that you want them to initiate something sexual, it seems like they will flat out refuse. You basically have to take charge and do it to them, which limits the types of fantasies that can happen.
    • If you want a much more sexual chatbot, try Linky.
+1 Broad range of responses and personalities possible, especially since they give you a lot of room to describe the AI's background and personality.
    • +0-0 You can further modify an existing chatbot with "mods" but the amount of information you can provide to customize your mod feels too little to be of any use. Just make your own chatbot instead.
