Disney Dreamlight Valley - Mining

This is part of our series of beginner tips for Disney Dreamlight Valley. We won't do a hand-holding walkthrough here, but instead consider approaches that might be unusual or overlooked.

Mining

  • While it's good to have a Mining Character potentially double your Mineral (gem) gains, it's better to simply not sell any gems and use them only for quests and the Star Path.
    • Once you have accumulated a lot of one type, you could start selling some for Dreamlight Duties.
    • Be cautious about selling all your Shiny gems as those are the hardest to get, even with Crafted Enchantments like Pickaxe Polish.
  • When you are mining for Iron Ore, try to alternate between the Forest of Valor and the Glade of Trust only.
    • The other zones that can drop Iron Ore also drop other items like Gold Ore, and that can slow down your rate of getting Iron Ore. Do them only if you are waiting for nodes to respawn.
  • When you see Kristoff's Stall sell Iron, buy it all up. Iron seems to be used in sizable quantities during quests and harvesting it yourself can feel quite time-consuming.
  • Furniture view is great when you are looking for mining nodes that are guaranteed to have Minerals (gems).
