Throne and Liberty - How to do Contracts

When to do contracts

Ideally you should only be doing Contracts in Throne and Liberty if:
  • You are going to go over cap, which is 60 plus any contracts awarded by quests.
  • You are already at maximum level, so you can take max-level (50) contracts at Purelight Tower or Watcher's Post.
You get 10 per day and for the Weekly Mission, you need to do 50, which can include any bonus Contracts from Contract Scrolls.

Try not to do Contracts if you are near or at your cap for Abyssal Contract Tokens because each Contract recharges that by a small amount.

IMPORTANT: Remember to use your Training Dew before it expires 24 hours from the time you finish a Contract. Every Contract awards some.
  • If you have the Mastery Reports consumable, you may want to binge on Contracts and accumulate a bunch of Dew to use up all at once while a Mastery Report is active so you get the bonus amount.

How to choose the Contract area

  • Choose a zone according to the highest level contracts you can handle.
  • If there are multiple options, check your Guild Contracts to see what type of kill quest you have so you can possibly advance it while doing kills for your Contracts. Each Contract area typically has Contracts for two zones.
    • For example, if your current Guild Contract involves killing "wildkin" then the Purelight Tower Contracts for the Purelight Tower area might be your priority.

How to choose Contracts

  • If you want the best rewards, then use Refresh
    • Most Contracts are Tier I but occasionally Tier II or even Tier III contracts are available, with more rewards. Each time you Refresh, you get a new set of Contracts and therefore another chance for those higher-tier Contracts to appear.
    • The best
  • If you don't see the reward you want, then also use Refresh
    • The best reward is Precious Blessings Pouch. Take every Contract that has this reward.
      • Normally costs a lot of Contract Coins to buy.
      • Despite showing you a bunch of purple gear, the chance of actually getting that is very low, so it's not really recommended that you buy these Pouches.
      • As a Contract reward, however, they are very good because each Pouch also gives you bonus Contract scrolls, which do not count toward the cap you can hold and do not expire.
    • The worst reward is Scrolls, which are easy to farm in the overland dungeons like Ant Nest.
  • If you don't have a lot of time then try to pick Contracts that are in the same area and have overlapping kill requirements.
