The First Descendent - Void Fragment - Vespers

Here are some tactically advantageous positions for The First Descendent Void Fragment Missions in Vespers.

Chill / level 24 (slides 1-3)
  • This missions has fire bombers that leap at you and explode, so be careful. The best positions in this mission do let enemies come quite close.
  • First wave (slide 2)
    • For the first wave, which is entirely melee, quickly grapple up to the ruins. If you stand close to the ledge, all the enemies should converge below and jump up.
      • If you grappled and overshot deeper into the ruins, some of the enemies might come at you from the flank, coming up the stairs and onto your platform that way. Ideally you can funnel them all into jumping up to you from below.
    • This is a great time to train some less-used weapons like Sniping Rifles and Launchers if you are over-levelled: When the enemy bunches up on the ledge, have that weapon equipped and use melee attacks of them, taking out several in a single strike.
  • Second wave (slide 3)
    • For the second wave, drop down from the ruins and run around to the side.
    • Visibility is harder because of the tree and you have to remember this wave will also have bombers so you will eventually have to move.
    • From hiding you should be able to have the initiative on when enemies see you. Come out briefly to alert them then go back. They won't be able to shoot you until they come around the corner.
    • There are wandering enemies that are not part of the mission and they may approach you from a direction where they can see and shoot at you from this position.
Fire / level 26 (slides 4-6)
  • In each wave there is only one spawn point.
  • Position yourself between the hills (slide 5).
    • For the first wave which comes from the right side, use the right hill for cover or to break line of sight. Since they are all melee, if you prefer them to jump up at you, go up to the ruined house behind (slide 6).
    • For the second wave, use the left side to break line of sight against shooters and lure them closer.
    Non-Attribute / level 29 (slides 7-9)
    • For the first waves which are all-melee, get on the ridge facing the spawn point (slide 8).
      • Or, if you can handle the damage, sit under the spawn point, let them group up, and use an Area of Effect attack to wipe them out and quickly train any weapon you want.
    • For the second waves which will include ranged enemies, use the base of the ridge (slide 9).
      • Keep close to the ridge and back up if needed to break line of sight, forcing enemies to bunch up and come around the corner. When you reload, run backward toward the Fragment so hopefully each spawn of adds starts without any line of sight to you.
      • If you need more space, especially from the bombers in the last spawn, grapple up the ridge to force enemies to either jump up or turn back and head up the slope.
    Non-Attribute / level 31 (slides 10-11)
    • Grapple up onto the high hill nearby. Enemies can jump up there, and there is also a spawn point on that hill.
    • The spawn point has only a few melee enemies until the very last spawn of the last wave, when there will be melee and firebombers. Jump off instead of getting bombed and handle them on the ground as they jump down after you.
