Honkai Star Rail launched April-25th 7pm PDT with a battle pass "Nameless Honor". You may have noticed that some of the tasks require quite a lot of prerequisite questing to unlock features, but a closer look shows that once you qualify to progress on the battle pass, you can make decent progress with the more basis tasks -- if you are fairly diligent every day.
- Beeline the main quest until you are stuck, then do some side quests or run around looking for chests to pick up, in order to improve your Trailblazer level until the battle pass unlocks.
- Continue to beeline the main quest but keep an eye on side quests that are automatically granted, which give you access to gameplay features which are part of the battle pass.
Even if you do not no-life the game or sink a lot of money into buying character power to breeze through a lot of fighting, so far it appears quite possible to complete the battle pass if you are diligent with all the basic tasks.
- 40,000 XP required
- The battle pass has 50 stages and each stage requires 800 points. That's a total of 40,000 points and the pass lasts 40 days.
- If you pay to the premium pass, you automatically get 10 levels, meaning you only have 40 stages to complete, require only 32,000 XP, and can be done in about 4 weeks.
- You are limited to 8,000 XP per week, so at a minimum it will take approximately 5 weeks to finish the battle pass.
- The "This Period's Missions" do NOT count toward the weekly cap.
- estimated 22,400 XP from "Today's Missions"
- Every day you can earn about 560 points from Daily tasks. Theoretically over the 40 days, players could have accumulated 21,600 points from Dailies alone, IF they qualified for the battle pass on launch day.
- estimated 30,000 XP from "This Week's Missions"
- If the weekly tasks maintain their week one values, there are 5000 points per week.
- However, for newer players some of these require significant story progress, such as access to the Echo of War.
- The task to consuming 1000 Trailblaze Power can also be tricky
- It basically restores 10 points per hour and you are capped at 180 points (18 hours), so you will probably have to log in two or three times and at different times of the day.
- Special consumables or exchanging Stellar Jade are possible (generally a bad idea) to get more Trailblaze Power immediately, but not really a sustainable solution unless you are willing to spend money.
- If you are low on credits, you might want to skip the task to use 300,000 credits each week instead of spending it frivolously. Alternatively, defer some expenses for the following week (e.g., purchases of collectibles from stores).
- 9,800 XP from "This Period's Missions"
- You CAN exceed the 8000 XP/week limit with these missions.
- If you can fully complete all Dailies and Weeklies in each 7-day period, your total per week is 560 x 7 + 5000 -- you will hit the cap each week and theoretically don't need to do any of it. You can even skip the weekly task to spend 300,000 credits and still hit the 8,000 point cap.
In the worst case you can spend Stellar Jade to purchase levels, but certainly you will want to look carefully at what you will get for the level.
- For example, every 10th level on the free-to-play track of the battle pass is a Star Rail Pass. In the Stellar Jade shop however this costs only 160 Stellar Jade.
